PRIMARY GERMAN WORD WALL VOCABULARY DISPLAY GERMAN DAYS MONTHS SEASONS WORD WALL
This German word wall display creates an instant introduction to the days of the week and the months and seasons of the year in German, and really brightens up the learning environment too. I like to share essential vocab that we can use in everyday language with my young learners from the beginning of their learning. We use them not only when we’re introducing and practising days, months and seasons, but also for developing German language skills and awareness in general. We talk a lot about the similarities and differences in the different languages, such as the use of capital letters, and we look very closely for cognates too. These are ideal for both the Primary German classroom, as well as the Year 7 German / beginner high school German classroom.
There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read from various locations in the classroom, which enables me to really get the most from my word walls - we do lots of quick vocab quizzes, spelling games and pronunciation practice for example. There are two backgrounds to choose from - German flag or black wave. I definitely recommend that you print on card stock and/or laminate for longevity - you’ll be able to enjoy your *German Days, Months and Seasons Word Wall *for years to come!

25 high-frequency French verbs, listed alphabetically French-English and English-French ideal as a year-round reference resource, and students find it particularly useful for exam revision, whether working in class time or at home. It’s useful for advanced beginner French students to provide a language learning map and for intermediate French students who are working with more complex language and texts, including authentic resources, and as a vocabulary audit and enrichment.
The verbs are all in the infinitive form and feature high-frequency French verbs that I work with in the advanced beginner to intermediate stages of my French learning programs. It’s important in language learning to ensure that students quickly develop a useful French verb vocabulary bank, are able to recognize high-frequency French verbs, and are confident with the meaning of those verbs in their first or home language. At that point students can move swiftly on to looking at conjugation and using the verbs in a communicative and practical context, enabling them to produce more detailed and descriptive language. This is an integral element to successful language learning.
Students shouldn’t take on the task of learning long lists of verbs or other vocabulary all at once though: frequent and regular use in real-world practical contexts is far more successful at embedding vocabulary into longer-term memory. I also use the books for quick vocabulary quizzes, again at frequent and regular intervals - I simply shout out the French or English verb, the first student or team to shout out the correct answer wins a point. I’ve found this to be a really successful alternative to more formal vocabulary testing.
The list is a great time-saver for teachers too - if you’re preparing resources focusing on high-frequency French verbs for your students, the list is a good starting point.

Lively whole-group multi-skill language learning games, ideal for Primary French / KS2 French and KS3 French / KS4 French students. The repetitive nature of the questions and answers, supported by the visual prompt of the clock faces, makes it perfect for practising, reinforcing & refreshing how to tell the time in French, and for pronunciation practice too.
There are 8 clock faces per page, and I cut the cards in sets of 2, so four larger cards per page. This means that students can see two clock faces and times per game card, which really helps to consolidate learning. It’s also a lot less prep than cutting out eight individual cards, though I do actually have a set like this, which we use as a larger-size dominoes game.
I always laminate my language learning cards - it’s definitely worth the extra prep time and expense, as they’re more learner-friendly, and remain in excellent condition for years. The aim of the game is to arrange the clocks in the relevant order. Students will generally have several cards each, depending on the size of your class. We usually set the cards on a table, so that students can see the timeline clearly. I frequently use a timer when we play. Playing in teams, using either a single challenge, or with both challenges together, is really popular - students find the competitive element really motivating and are genuinely keen to see which team can finish first, and whether they can beat their own time record. The games also work well as pair or small-group games.

An instant introduction to 25 vegetables in French. I like to share essential beginner French vocabulary that I can use in everyday talk with my young learners from the beginning of their French learning programme. The key focus is on the definite article, both masculine and feminine, singular and plural, though I do use the set to start to compare these with the indefinite article, which I’ve found to be a really successful way of helping students embed grammatical concepts such as gender, implicitly, without the need for repeated explicit instruction.
We use the set not only when we’re introducing and practising French vegetables, but also for developing French language skills and awareness in general. Students are able to familiarize themselves with how French words ‘look’, and how sounds are represented in the written form. I don’t actually introduce 25 vegetables at once, but in my classroom decor, I generally have additional language to maximize students’ exposure to related vocabulary.
The vegetables are:

GERMAN ANIMALS FLASHCARDS POSTERS #1
PRIMARY GERMAN KS3 GERMAN ANIMALS DEUTSCHE TIERE FLASHCARDS POSTERS These German animals display posters / flashcards create a fabulous German look and feel in the learning environment. I’ve found that this also helps promote German as a living language, featuring in the everyday life of beginner learners of German. They introduce learners to a range of animals in German from the very beginning of their learning, and they are able to familiarize themselves with how German words ‘look’, and how sounds are represented in the written form. My younger German students really love the animals posters, and like to compare the German and English words. I’ve found that they also help very young children develop their growing understanding of the animal kingdom. We don’t necessarily learn all the animals, but we do use them for pronunciation and speaking practice, and for memory games too. Students definitely notice the different words for the, and ask why some animals are der, and others are die or das. I’ve used this as a useful prompt to introduce the concept of gender.
Use them as flashcards to introduce and practise language too - it’s a traditional and successful low-tech teaching method, which gives students a welcome break from the whiteboard - varying teaching methodologies in the language learning classroom is always a good idea, and I also encourage my students to take the role of the teacher too, which they find really motivating.
There are 20 animals using the masculine, feminine and neuter definite article, which again is a great opportunity to begin to compare German and English, looking particularly closely at capitalization of nouns. I’ve chosen a couple of insects and birds, as well as animals that feature in very popular stories, such as Bär and Wolf.

These French speaking prompts are perfect for developing speaking skills in French - there are 100 question and answer cards and a reference book aimed at KS3 French moving into KS4 French, with a specific focus on French reflexive verbs in the present tense.
The cards are also great for multi-skill language learning - they give students structured talk opportunities and will also get them listening, reading and writing. They’re ideal for independent learning, and perfect for pair and small-group work - my students frequently select the speaking and writing cards for their free-choice learning activity.
The reference book includes all the questions and answers written out in French. Students find it a very useful learning support resources and it’s also handy for whole-group pronunciation and reading-out loud practice. Students use the Ideas, Notes and Next Steps template to reflect on their learning, and think about what they might reasonably do to progress in their learning - we use this to guide and inform discussions we have as a whole-group about where students think they are at the moment, and what they think they might like to work a little more on. They also jot down ideas for their own question and answers that they create for each other.
The question and answer card writing templates give students the opportunity to apply their French practically, as they create both questions and answers for each other, using the reference book as a form of writing frame to help them form their language correctly. This is a great team activity too. We also use the cards for a whole range of games, and I’ve described how to play several you can start with that work really well for us.

KS3 ITALIAN GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN DATES DAYS MONTHS SEASONS CHALLENGE CARDS are perfect for KS3 Italian, and really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their knowledge of this essential Italian vocabulary in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. They have a bonus multi-skill focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading and spelling. They’re great for helping students familiarize themselves with, and develop competence in, speaking, reading, writing and spelling in Italian in general, and certainly in***Italian dates, days, months and seasons*** in particular. The cards are useful not only when you’re focusing on this particular vocabulary area, but also as an all-year-round starter, plenary and general ‘pick-me-up’ activity, as the goal is not simply to learn how these words and phrases in Italian, but also to enjoy working with Italian, and to feel confident about doing so.
The questions range in complexity and challenge, and some call upon prior knowledge too, helping students make links and build bridges in their learning. There may be some words students are not familiar with - these questions give them the opportunity to learn and apply new language too. There’s also a question card template for students to use language practically and creatively, and craft questions and answers for each other - this is a really popular activity with my students.

Games with goals: these French fruits and vegetables bingo games are ideal for young beginner French learners.
This bundle features two sets of bingo games, with 12 fruits and 12 vegetables in masculine, feminine, singular and plural forms respectively. The games are ideal for developing listening, speaking, reading, writing and spelling skills in French, as well as learning key beginner French vocabulary.
There are 360 bingo grids and 80 calling cards in this bundle, everything you need for lots of games with all your students. All the grids are designed for all the squares to be crossed off in order to win the game, and depending on the size of your class, there can be several winners per game. The grids with pictures are in both colour and BW: colour looks great, and I laminate these for class, using them with wipe-clean pens so that they can be recycled for years. The BW versions work really well for quick games - print and go!
Each set features 12 fruits and 12 vegetables respectively, and I’ve found this to be a reasonable and manageable number for young learners.

I have folders ready with lots of different bingo grids in them, so that they are good to grab and go whenever students select them, or I decide it’s time for a quick practice and refresh session. I distribute the grids in a variety of ways, for example students get a random selection of pages, and they select the order of grids they play from. Students can also cut out the grids, and place them in a small bowl or similar object on tables, and then select individual grids randomly.

These French speaking prompts cards are perfect for developing speaking skills - there are***100 question and answer cards and a reference book focusing on beginning conversation***. They’re also great for multi-skill language learning - they give students structured talk opportunities and will also get them listening, reading and writing. They’re ideal for independent learning, and***perfect for pair and small-group work*** - my students frequently select the speaking and writing cards for their free-choice learning activity. The prompt cards feature language and structures that your students are likely to meet in advanced beginner French and intermediate French programmes, including a range of tenses.
The reference book includes all the questions and answers written out in French. Students find it a very useful learning support resources and it’s also handy for whole-group pronunciation and reading-out loud practice. Students use the Ideas, Notes and Next Steps template to reflect on their learning, and think about what they might reasonably do to progress in their learning - we use this to guide and inform discussions we have as a whole-group about where students think they are at the moment, and what they think they might like to work a little more on. They also jot down ideas for their own question and answers that they create for each other.
The question and answer card writing templates give students the opportunity to apply their French practically and creatively, as they put together both questions and answers for each other. This is integral to successful language learning. They use the reference book as a writing frame to help them produce accurate language . This is a great team activity too. We also use the cards for a whole range of games, and I’ve described how to play several you can start with that work really well for us.

GCSE ITALIAN KS4 ITALIAN KS3 ITALIAN -ARE VERBS IMPERFECT TENSE My students really like this kind of grammar activity, as they like to work and learn independently, which is a successful way of varying teaching and learning methodologies - I’ve found it’s really important to avoid predominantly teacher-led learning in the languages classroom. There are 150 conjugations across 3 differentiated conjugation challenges. I use these kinds of workbooks in lots of different ways: for practice during the introduction phase, for independent choice in class time, for home learning, for practice and revision during vacation and at return to class, and for cover lessons - they’re really versatile, and ideal for advanced KS3 Italian and KS4 Italian students who are beginning to work with more complex texts, including a range of tenses.
Though the workbook focuses solely on the correct conjugation of verbs, and does not look at word order in the context of full sentences, there are conjugation patterns that students can learn, recognise and apply, ensuring that their spoken and written Italian is accurate, and that their understanding of Italian across the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing is robust.
The resource is structured as follows:
Two alphabetical verb reference lists: Italian-English and English-Italian.
Three conjugation challenges, each with 50 individual conjugations:
Conjugation Challenge 1: each verb conjugated in Italian across a range of pronouns, with students writing the corresponding English verb conjugation.
Conjugation Challenge 2: gives the infinitive of each verb in Italian, specifying the target pronoun. Students write the corresponding verb conjugation in Italian.

I encourage my beginner French students of all ages and stages to build up comprehensive French vocabulary banks that they can reference easily whenever they need it, and they’re also really useful for regular vocabulary audits, which really helps students map their progress and keep track of their learning. Students take responsibility for organising their own learning materials from the very beginning of their learning, keeping them carefully in vocabulary learning files or folders. My students all have reference resource binders or files - these can have a range of formats - for instance, sticking into a large exercise book, or punching holes down the left-hand side, and adding to files. We also use twine or thick string, which young French learners really enjoy making.
I also use this kind of vocabulary list for quick vocabulary quizzes, spelling competitions and so on, and it also works well laminated for small-group work in class time. The font size is fairly large, as ensuring that language is clear and accessible is essential for beginner language learners, as they begin to familiarize themselves with words and spelling systems in a new language.
I have also uploaded a number reference sheet I give my more experienced French learners - it’s in landscape format, with all the numbers on a single sheet, so the font size is smaller - students who’ve been learning French for a while are comfortable with quite a lot of text on a single page.
